How Does Teens 2 Trades Help?

Many Idaho Youth Are Faced With A Difficult Decision After High School. High school graduates often have to choose between making a large financial investment to pursue a college degree, or joining the workforce directly after high school for, possibly, lower wages.

This problem is significantly more challenging for under-served or under-resourced youth.

The Teens 2 Trades Program Offers:

Scholarship Opportunities:

Yearly, participants of the Teens 2 Trades program will have the opportunity to receive a full-ride scholarship to a 4 year workforce development program of their choice offered by the College of Western Idaho. Special consideration is made to admit under-resourced youth.

Career Path Insight:

By developing a "line of sight" plan leading to a meaningful career path within the trades.

Opportunity Education:

By educating youth on the prestige, variety, and financial opportunity a trades career offers.

A Career “Jumpstart”:

By providing the means to obtain A Journeyman Certificate, which has the potential to double their salary within the trades.
